Imagine riding good horses over the superb Botswana Okavango countryside, where every landscape is dotted with game. The riding is varied, sometimes quietly walking, stalking big game and admiring the bird life, sometimes cantering through the water-meadows alongside galloping giraffe and lechwe.
There is a horse to suit everyone and a choice of English or Trail saddles. Qualified guides will share with you their intimate knowledge of this wilderness, using the horses to the best effect to bring you closer to the game.Macatoo, the Horseback safari Camp, is situated on the western side of the Okavango Delta and the riding from the camp is scenically varied in all directions.
We would recommend a 7 night stay to get the best out of this adventure. Alternatively there are shorter length stays available with the minimum stay being 3 nights. The camp features large, walk-in, twin bedded tents, each with their own en-suite shower and toilet.
There is a large furnished mess dinning tent and a tucked away private swimming pool.Expect to ride for 4-6 hours per day and this ride is only suitable for intermediate riders or better that are able to manage all paces comfortably.
Although this is geared to the rider, non-riders are also welcome and may enjoy many alternative activities on offer including game drives, seasonal boating trips, Mokoro fishing and much more. This is truly a unique and unforgettable riding adventure.REQUEST SAMPLE ITINERARIES
