In the valley of the Big Horn National Forest and alongside the French and Three River Creeks, Paradise is aptly named, in its tranquil setting, with the only sounds to interrupt the peace are the calls of wildlife – and the sounds of families having fun.
With nine to twelve separate rides each day, guests can enjoy walking, trotting or cantering and with no more than seven guests per ride, this means that you can select your own pace and style. Also, the opportunity to participate in cattle team penning in the arena. A pack mule accompanies all day rides with food for lunch on the trail. 6-12 year olds can ride with adults or on their own programme, which includes a weekly campout and a rodeo with a gymkhana. Parents can supervise under 6’s or lead them around the ranch on ponies.
For non-riders or as a change from riding, the ranch has a range of activities, including a heated outdoor swimming pool, an indoor whirlpool spa, volleyball, badminton and horseshoe games. For angling enthusiasts, a 4-day fishing trip can be added to a ranch stay.
All accommodations have been recently renovated or newly built, and feature full baths, showers, kitchenettes, washers and dryers and unique western art. Each has an outdoor deck where you can relax and read, watch the stars or just soak up the excitement of a ranch day.
The ranch has adult only weeks in late August and September for the more adventurous. Ranch style family meals offer as much as you can eat of hearty western home cooking. As well as family-style dining, there are also real mule-drawn chuck-wagon dinners and cookouts to enjoy. The ranch has a well-stocked saloon. Singsongs around a bonfire, square dances and talent shows are just some of the evening entertainments you can look forward to.
