RANCHO DE LA OSA

Rancho de la Osa is a sportsman’s paradise and one of the most historic properties in the west. Situated on 590 acres and surrounded by an additional 120,000 acres of National Wildlife Refuge, the ranch is located high in the Sonoran Desert and close to the Mexican Border. Saddle up for a scenic horseback ride on trails frequented by U.S. Presidents, moview stars and other dignitaries. Enjoy a cool drink in Arizona’s oldest continually used building, which was built by Jesuit missionaries in the 1700s. Then retreat to the Hacienda or your historic guest room to relax in Southwestern color and culture.

If you’re an experienced rider or even if you’ve never been on a horse before, this ranch has riding for you. The wranglers will match you with a horse appropriate to your ability and lead you on scenic trails through sandy washes, over rocky terrain, past incredible rock formations and across lush desert grasslands. For those of you who are seeking more of a challenge, loping and trotting can be incorporated into rides where the terrain allows.

Should you decide to take a break from horseback riding, the ranch offers guided Fat Tyre electric bike tours and guided Off-Road UTV tours to explore the United States/Mexican border or nearby ghost town ruins. Then try your hand at shooting both clay and .22 pistols, as well as 3D archery. If you still haven’t satisfied your thirst for thrilling pursuits there are also numerous hiking trails, and a there’s a swimming pool and hot tub to relax in at the day’s end.Should you decide to take a break from horseback riding, the ranch offers guided Fat Tyre electric bike tours and guided Off-Road UTV tours to explore the U.S.-Mexico border or nearby ghost town ruins.
