This spectacular deluxe guest ranch is in the middle of Colorado's mountain cattle country, in Northwest Colorado. They are surrounded by vast, heavy pine and spruce forest, glorious aspen groves, sage hillsides, and inviting alpine meadows laced with crystalline streams and beaver ponds. Terrain varies from near-level meadows to steep escarpments, yielding spectacular vistas for riders and hikers. In summer the ranch focuses on horseback riding, with wranglers who manage to match your riding skills with one of their 80 horses.
Be sure to try a breakfast or sunset ride sometime during your stay, experienced riders may have the opportunity to go on an actual cattle roundup or practice team penning. If all you want to do on horseback is walk and enjoy the scenery, they have perfect scenery; if you want to trot and lope, they have trails appropriate for this as well. After breakfast on Wednesday, those who want to do overnight packtrip, prepare a sack lunch and head for the barn (11 years and above). As soon as the regular rides and all-day rides clear the barnyard, we'll mount up and follow the packhorses into the high country. Stopping for lunch on the way in a beautiful meadow surrounded by pines, we arrive late in the afternoon and set up camp, returning to the ranch in time for lunch the next day.
Other summer activities include fishing, white-water rafting, hay ride’s, shooting and nature walks - however, guests are not railroaded into participating if they'd rather just hang out by the heated pool or hot-tub and enjoy the setting.
The accommodations are either one-bedroom or three-bedroom modern log structures, each with a sitting room and private facilities. They are fully-carpeted, with queen beds, private porches, electric heat and a cosy fireplace or wood burning stoves. The ranch kitchen delivers scrumptious meal choices and since many people are health conscious, we include both light and hearty choices at all meals.
Evening meals offer two entrees, one red meat and one white. Fresh salads and fruit, home-made breads and desserts, and a huge breakfast selection to satisfy any palate. Soft drinks are provided in your cabins and at meals, complimentary. A selection of wines and beers are available for you to purchase. When you visit this ranch, you'll enjoy warm hospitality and a genuine Western ranch experience.
