There is a chance to check on cattle and at certain times of the year you may participate in the ranch cattle drives that happen throughout the summer (the longer drives tend to be in June). The rides at the ranch meander through the mountains and meadows of the ranch offering some of the best scenic rides in the Rocky Mountains. Riding on the ranch goes "off the beaten" paths and guests are encouraged NOT to ride in nose to tail formation and open riding is encouraged.
With a large variety of horses, they can host any level of rider from beginner to expert and because of the small number of guests you are sure to get a horse suitable to your level of experience. Guests are invited to help care for the horses in catching, brushing, feeding, and saddling them.
Additional activities are available, wildlife watching, hiking, historical tours, gold panning treks, shooting (rifle amp; archery) and photo safaris. You might also like to try fishing at a nearby creek or one of the ranch ponds, or to go swimming at the nearby lake. For an additional charge, trips to Yellowstone and white-water rafting are also offered.
During rodeo season the ranch will endeavour to take you along to see this great spectacle.Accommodation at the ranch includes one of three cabins that nestle in a meadow along the waters of Clear Creek; all the cabins have private facilities, refrigerators, and electric heat. The main lodge has a wonderful mountain backdrop and is where the home-cooked meals are served. At the end of the day there maybe a sing-along around the camp fire or maybe take a soak in the hot-tub and discuss the days adventure. This is truly a wonderful hidden hideaway.
