Estancia Huechahue

This working estancia with over 15,000 acres and located in the Patagonia region, has been in the same ownership for over four generations. Today it is a thriving cattle operation and invites a select number of guests to experience this truly unique lifestyle where horses and cattle still roam free and where much of the food is home-grown.The riding program is tailored to the needs of the guests, so whilst they can cater for novices who are fit and enjoy a challenge, there is plenty of scope for fast and challenging rides.

At Huechahue there are great horses, masses of space and lots to do on horseback! Experience fast scenic riding with also opportunities to help the Gauchos with the cattle work, there will be various riding terrains from water-meadows to rugged climbs opening up in to valleys formed many years ago by glacier actions.

Take a ride to the Tehuelche Indian caves where the Indian’s buried their dead, the remains have now long gone but the Petroglygphs remain, or maybe take a late afternoon/evening ride to see the Eagles and majestic Condors soaring above.  There are plenty of opportunities for walking or trekking, either following marked trails or a guide can be provided if preferred.

Other activities available include; fishing, tennis, rafting and river swimming.The comfortable accommodations all have private facilities, also available for guests use are a Sauna, Jacuzzi and a Plunge pool. The excellent food is mostly reared and produced on the estancia itself and is of a high standard, there is an emphasis on meat as that is what Argentina produces best. You will not go thirsty either here as all drinks including, beer, wine and spirits are included.
